Our name, Two Knobby Tires, comes from our affinity for mountain biking and the "two knobby tires" on our mountain bikes that power many of our outdoor adventures. Our motto is "Life happens outdoors," which describes our mission to use our enthusiasm and knowledge about outdoor recreation to promote an eco-friendly, healthy, and active lifestyle for individuals, families, and pet-owners.  We strive to motivate people to spend more time outdoors connecting with nature and less time watching TV, playing video games, and surfing the Internet. Because of this mission, we are actively engaged in the following initiatives:

• Providing an online store for outdoor gear that is dedicated to equipping hikers, bikers, pet owners, and recreational families. Amazon.com announced that we were one of their "Top Holiday Sellers in 2009" for our high marks in customer satisfaction.
• All of our shipping boxes are either reused or recycled.
• Publishing a blog that offers free information about trails and initiates thought-provoking discussions about plants and wildlife.
• Moderating an outdoor forum for outdoor enthusiasts to share experiences about hiking, biking, running, rock climbing, fishing, hunting, camping, horseback riding, boating, snowshoeing, and/or skiing. Trail conditions, wildlife sightings, outdoor ethics, trail abuses, and questions are also discussed.
• Designing outdoor activities for kids in the form of free PDFs.
• Writing outdoor gear reviews for products that we personally own and endorse.
• Volunteering as naturalists in our local communities.
