Bike Light - LED Bicycle Lights, Headlights, Tail
Safety is an important issue for cyclists riding on the road and/or riding at night. Bicycle lights can mitigate the risk of an accident by increasing lateral, front, and rear visibility to other vehicles on the road. Further, LED lights can make a commuting ride to school or work safer by lighting up a path in front of a cyclist. In fact, some states require that cyclists use rear reflectors, side reflectors, and a white front headlight when riding at night or during times of poor visibility (e.g., rain, fog). Similarly, mountain bikers utilize bicycle lights for safe night time riding on trails. Most importantly, parents should consider using bike lights as an additional safety measure during day time rides with a child in a child bike trailer or child bike seat. Youth cyclists can have fun and be safe by using an LED spoke light or a set of front / rear lights.
Bicycle Light Features - Most bike lights are equipped with two modes: flashing mode and steady mode. Flashing mode is ideal for announcing a rider's presence to other vehicles and cyclists. Specifically, flashing mode can be employed on spoke lights, headlights, and rear lights. On the other hand, steady mode is suitable for illuminating the road in front of a cyclist or to increase lateral or rear visibility. What's more, bicycle lights are typically lightweight, weather resistant, durable, and provide visibilty up to one mile.
